of Ilyichevsk
The port features specialized cargo facilities:
- liquid cargoes terminal for handling liquid fertilizers, liquid
caustic soda and vegetable oils;
- sheltered terminal for storage and transfer of mineral fertilizers
in bulk;
- grain cargoes transfer terminal;
- railway ferry terminal for servicing the lines Ilyichevsk-Varna
(Bulgaria), Ilyichevsk-Poti (Georgia);
- RO-RO terminal for handling vehicles and TIR trucks.
All berths are equipped with railway tracks, some
with up to 10 on-shore lines, enabling handling of up to 500 wagons
per day.
The maximum draft for ships in the port is 11.8
m. For vessels with deeper draft, the Harbour Master’s permission
is required. Passing from the 1st basin to the 2nd and back is allowed
only for ships with up to 9.5 m draft. The draft of vessels entering
Ilyichevsk Ship Repair Yard waters must not exceed 8 m.
Pilotage is compulsory for all vessels of 500
or more registered tons capacity.
Towage is compulsory for vessels with GRT more
than 1500 reg. tones.
The port has 28 berths (please refer to the scheme
of Port Ilyichevsk) and the berthing line runs a total of 5.5 km.
Its berthing depths range from 9.6 to 13 m. The port is divided
into three cargo terminal complexes all of which have various transfer
and storage facilities.
The port has 5 covered storage areas, totaling
55 190 sq. m. The total area of open storage spaces is 724 600 sq.
m.
Port offers specialized facilities for handling
heavy cargoes (max. 300 t).
